  1. Warwick – have you investigated the South West of Australia temp record for November? I’m almost certain it was very mild (if not cool) as only two days went over 32 degrees – most days sat below the monthly average of 26.

  2. This BoM page with time series charts shows you are right Lysander – it was a fairly mild warm month for SW WA – and remember this is ACORN data where the past is cooled.
Have you seen media claiming SW WA was very hot in November ?

I have noticed two articles re oil price – News.com.au has – Everything you need to know about the price of oil, and why it matters – 2 Dec 14 – they see it as the Saudis being worried about shale oil from fracking – dunno about that.
And Bloomberg shows – 6 Charts That Illustrate Vladimir Putin’s World of Pain – 3 Dec 14

  3. Saw this article quoting Teheran screaming “treachery”. Did they think the Saudis were ever on their side ?

I suppose Iran could always try invading the Saudis before their economy gets even worse – it is not far across the Gulf. Their navy could get air cover from the Viet Nam era Phantom F4’s flying museum.
