Israel Will Be The Last Man Standing in the Middle East

David Archibald pulls no punches in his assessment of the Middle East looking at population trends – grain imports – future global cooling.

  1. If David is right, and I’m neutral on his solar theories, it will be good for Australian agriculture.

Here in the West, there have been good rains right across the wheatbelt and a wetter than average winter is forecast.

Farmers are optimistic this year’s crop will exceed the 2013 record crop.

My prediction of more northerly tracking Southern Ocean low pressure systems due to the increase in Antarctic Sea Ice is looking good.

The CSIRO’ prediction of the opposite, not so good.

  2. Philip Bradley:

A cooling climate means contraction of the Hadley cells and movement of the low pressure systems towards the equator has been settled from (at least) the 1960’s, or so I believe. I have a book printed 1975 which points this out, as also the converse, mostly from a Northern hemisphere view point. The reference is to Flint, Richard Foster Glacial and Quaternary Geology 1971, Wiley, N.Y. but based on Flohn 1951/53 (without ref.)

But of course the CSIRO believes that CO2 is causing warming. According to the NASA GISS figures a whole 0.8℃ between 1850 and 2012, or 0.049℃ per decade, although they have to concede that part ( 0.43℃ between 1850 and 1878) of that is natural.

Take a tip from Piers Corbyn and don’t bet on the CSIRO (or the BoM) being correct.
