1986 sea level paper titled “Australia – an unstable platform for tide-gauge measurements of changing sea levels”
March 15th, 2013 by Warwick HughesI came across this paper at the end of last year – hoping to obtain a pdf copy or find a library with a hard copy of the journal – or maybe a reader could scan the 14 pages.
Anyway, it is worth a post just for the title alone – particularly in view of recent publicity about subsidence in the Perth area.
See my post from last December.
To understand Perth sea-levels is a complex issue – much of the Perth plain has subsided in recent decades

Warwick, the paper (www.jcronline.org/doi/pdf/10.2112/JCOASTRES-D-10-00141.1 ) by P Watson is more recent and maybe more useful, although it is only about 4 long term stations one of which is Fremantle. It shows it is subsiding 2.6mm/yr
The Journal of Coastal Research has many open access papers www.jcronline.org/page/coas/open and there are a couple of recent ones about sea-level.
