Seeing the drone footage from 12Feb2022 of Anti-Mandate convoy crowds(sent in by a reader) walking the 9km from EPIC to APH is like nothing I can recall. Derided by politicians and the dominant GreenLeft media yet the convoy crowds remain amazingly good natured. Can readers help with URL’s to help build a timeline of large crowds in our political history.

As you say, wazz, the coverage by the mainstream media – at least what I could see – was pathetically inadequate and misleading. Find the odd loon, whinge about disruption to a Lifeline book sale, go on about 3 people being arrested… and ignore what must be the biggest protest in the history of Canberra by a mile. I lived there many years and never saw anything remotely resembling the size of this crowd.

I disagree with “mandated” vaccination – the spiteful hysteria channelled at those who decide against being vaccinated is exactly Salem witch hunt stuff.
That doesn’t mean I think WA hiding under a bigger doona is sensible.
The Canadian truckie protest/blockade has drawn an escalating response from Trudeau et al that genuinely scares me. It has reached the point where those who have donated to both crowd-funding organisations (one of which attempted to purloin the money, the other of which has been blocked from distributing the funds) are being tracked down individually and their bank accounts frozen after being declared “domestic terrorists”. The donor lists from both organisations have been illegally hacked by the Trudeau Govt to obtain that information.
The Canberra bubble is just a bubble. The Canadian sh**storm is completely destructive. Some will argue that Canadian opinion polls say the majority agree with Trudeau … how that (even if accurate) negates the destruction is a cliff too far for me.
Agree Ianl, I disagree with mandated vaccination or bans on medication to treat anything. I have had now four vaccinations 2*AZ plus 2*Pfizer boosters because I have an problematic immune system (overactive to require depressants) but that is my choice. I have a fair idea how to fix Covid if i get it and so have many doctors. From the very start people should have got doctors to fix them. It is almost a death sentence to be put on a ventilator. Andrews in Vic, Trudeau in Canada and Ardern in NZ should be brought in front of a court for manslaughter, assault etc. Morrison is hopeless not only over Covid but for the crap on energy. I think he will lose but I hope the ALP, Greens and these so-called climate independents are bigger losers.
