The BoM outlook maps are and have been in error by a large extent. The actual result is also out by a large extent because they fiddle readings and measurements (through bad siting and bad recording by not taking the requirements of the WMO) the figures for warming. Look at the history of accuracy of past data. The results should be less than 50% throughout the country. I have never seen an accurate prediction for my area. Instead by using false CO2 “forcing” they should be looking at season changes, cyclical changes, SOI data and IPO for the east coast of Australia and IOD for North West and Antarctic info for the South West.
The BoM has bombed again. I just checked the NSW max anomaly for Jan 22 and just shook my head. The anomaly map shows areas in the far north-west (Districts 46 and 48) as above average yet only one site is above – all the rest are below. The interesting thing is that Cobar MO is +1.6C yet Cobar AP is -0.7C. That’s more than two degrees difference in the same town – WT?
And the BoM claims NSW max mean was 1.52C above average. Obviously falsifying the result to make their prediction look better.
Let’s not forget that it was Greg Hunt who let the idiotic bureaucratic organizations (CSIRO and BoM) off the hook for fiddling with raw data several years ago. the sooner he has gone, the better.
As someone who spent many tears pouring over statistics to see what was relevant and what was not, I never, ever contemplated fiddling with the raw data.
If the raw data looked “screwy, you did NOT alter it. You just made a notation as to why it may have been screwy.
