  1. Very good summary of real data in comparison to invented modeled data from Burt Rutan.
    I would go further with his highlight of the difference between engineers and scientists.
    Engineers have to deal with measured data. Often scientific theory has to be modified to fit real life which involves such things such as large scale (compared to the laboratory), contamination, competing forces, measurement errors, complexity and unknowns. Take airplane design which maybe modeled, then tested in a wind tunnel, and then tested in full scale before production starts.
    Very interesting presentation at the ICCC from Habibullo Abdussamotov see www.heartland.org/events/2010Chicago/program.html . He predicts significant cooling based on past cycles.
