I have several posts on the subject through 2016 and have called for an audit. The latest was WA Water Corporation can not replace a couple of rain gauges in 2 months 27 Oct 2016

  1. Warwick – How does the WC get away with this appalling mismanagement year after year?

They stuff around for months failing to repair two bung rain gauges, and fail to take readings at several other stations for months, yet they can afford fancy propaganda videos like this:

    www.watercorporation.com.au/water-supply/rainfall-and-dams?pid=res-wss-np-rdw

where they artfully conceal one of the main reasons runoff efficiency has fallen, namely their own failure to clear dam foreshores of water-sucking scrub.

Your set of posts on this amounts to a devastating indictment of Water Corporation management stretching back over years. It’s amazing there hasn’t been more of a public outcry about this.

  2. The Water Corporation has been running a huge number of TV ads during the cricket this summer. Pestering us to take shorter showers, etc. They may well run ads at other times as well, but other than sport, I don’t watch broadcast TV.

They should be spending the money on actually increasing supply.
