  1. I don’t like drawing too much out of anecdotal weather reports, but with Scotland having been bitterly cold this year and seeing many other reports of extremely cold weather earlier in the year, I am seriously beginning to wonder whether we might be seeing a global cooling phenomenon that just is not showing up in the temperature records WE ARE SHOWN.

So, let’s just call it a hypothesis: the world is currently cooling and this is being hidden by fabricated temperature data. Can I disprove it? No. Is there evidence of cooling and temperature fabrication – yes, plenty of it.

And the worst of it is this – even if the lying scoundrels who have been compiling global temperature data did come out and say “we’re heading for cooling” – I still wouldn’t believe them!

  2. I have an example Mike but will need it checked. My attention was drawn to the fact that Aust in July had an 0.42C max anomaly – yet it was so cold in many parts of eastern and southern Aust.
According to the monthly summaries, Qld had an +0.55C maximum anomaly. I checked the map and found that southern Qld coastal area (Moreton SE District 40) was showing above average shading where the actual temps for the individual weather stations was below average.
So I downloaded all the Qld temps and found that the max temps (when averaged out) was only about 0.1C above average, not the 0.55C as reported. If my figures are correct, then there is a big disparity between the actual individual sites and the shading method the BoM appears to use.
I have found this quite often where this disparity appears and have commented on this blog before. Warwick did the numbers on NSW last year when the BoM claimed it had had a +4.0C anomaly where individual site averages where only around +2.5C.
So it is probably the way agencies do their shading that may be the cause.
I refer you to these summaries and others can check if my calculations are correct (max temps only).
