Every time I see reports as to how flawed, petty & corrupt our political representatives are I get a hankering for the “good old days of statesmanship”. I’d like to think we deserve a better quality of person to make the decisions which affect our future.
However there really were no good old days. Earlier times were just before the internet, shock jocks, spin doctors & bloody camera iPhones.
Perhaps the former lack of immediacy was the stuff of pedestals.
