  1. Cairns Regional Council say the existing supply from the CopperLode Dam was built in 1976. The option they favour for an augmented supply would be piped 20km from the “run of the river” in the Mulgrave River approx 20km south near Gordonvale.
This BoM map shows existing dams and the general layout Cairns Region. I imagine touching anything around there would impinge mucho State and Fed legislation. Wild Rivers, Nat. Parks, Green this Green that, ditto Indigenous. Plus general increasingly GreenLeft public servants both Fed and State. Could keep EIS report writers busy for years not to mention community consultation.

  2. Look out for the sacred sites.
They are the sites which are sensible for a dam/reservoir or for mining exploration.
How many more sacred site bullshit stories do we have to stomach?
I am yet to see anything which represents “SACRED” from the most primitive race on the face of the Earth which Western influence has improved (for better or for worse).
Enough is enough – and NO – I am not racist, rather a realist.

  3. I recall the old Geologist joke from the Uranium boom.
    Q. How do you find a sacred site?
    A. With a geiger counter.
