  1. Fire Blight is a disease affecting fruit particularly apples. It appears it orginated in USA, was imported to Europe and found its way to NZ either from USA or Europe. It is not yet here in Australia. The disease is not Maori as it only dates to the 1950-60’s in Europe and later in NZ.

  2. Agree gorgeous examples of the stuffed & extinct Kuri – and to think silly me thought taxidermists were skilled. When a teenager camping on the Kennedy Bay tops way too long ago to mention I remember being woken by friendly rats in the night. I was told they were Kiore.
