Presenting some SE Queensland rain data from February 1893 that the Australian  Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) thought not worth including in their 25 January 2011 amended SPECIAL CLIMATE STATEMENT 24 (SCS24).
My Table below will reproduce selected entries from S.E. Queensland  from the BoM Table 2 pages 21 to 23, and data that I add will be in italics.  Some station numbers get out of order to keep comparisons side by side and generally progress is from north to south. In the Feb 1893 column * means highest of all months.

**Lady Elliot Island is close enough to  Sandy Cape Lighthouse and Bundaberg  that it is likely IMHO that Feb 1893 rain would have been proportionally higher  than the Dec 2010 reading.
U of Qld at Gatton**  I find it amazing that in view of all the stations quoted by the BoM in their Table 2 - they only quote two from the Brisbane catchment. - U of Qld at Gatton and Pechey.   Neither of which has data back to 1893.  And I thought there was a major public issue with flooding in the Brisbane catchment.
There will be many more stations in the Brisbane catchment with data from pre 1893 than I have shown here.
