  1. It is amusing to recall the days when Tim Flannery and Gillard were telling us all that China was leading the way by closing a coal-fired power station every week and replacing them with windmills or solar panels. The truth is clear here, and in statements by Chinese spokespeople telling us that ‘renewables’ are not cost effective and they need the power right now. You can trust the Chinese to be practical and not fall for April Fool jokes like ‘Global Warming’. The Chinese have their own scientists who are, very probably telling them the truth, unlike the Western Countries’ Scientists.

renewables are neither cost effective nor reliable, and it is doubtful that they reduce CO2 emissions very much at all. Despite 7000+ wind turbines Denmark has high emissions (by european standards).
Germany is finding out the cost of renewable power, and is grappling with the disruptions it causes. Ironically the flood of renewables is driving the lower emission sources out of business, leaving the gaps in supply to be filled from brown coal fired sources. 5 of the roughly 20 new coal fired power stations being built in Germany were claimed to be to cover for wind supply deficiencies, not to replace nuclear. So more wind and other Green fantasies are leading to more emissions.

The Chinese are well aware of the effects of climate change; the Medieval Warm Period was a time of plenty there. The Little Ice Age brought famine, economic collapse and foreign domination. Telling them that more CO2 would cause warming was never going to worry them, even if they believed it.

I believe there are about 1200 coal fired power stations under way in the World.

Amazing statements by United Nations climate chief Christiana Figueres –
China, the top emitter of greenhouse gases, is also the country that’s “doing it right” when it comes to addressing global warming, the United Nations’ chief climate official said.
    Gotta love the UN.
